Fast, Quirky Halloween Costume Ideas for Little Urbanites

Soon it will be Halloween, a holiday that creates a lifetime memories for children. Sometimes it takes some inspiration to think of last minute Halloween costumes. I did some research online and pulled together some ideas. Please feel free to send in your ideas and pictures.

homemade Gnome costume

This is from the Disney Family Fun website and I think it is super easy and cute for your baby or toddler. Check out the easy instructions and the pattern for the felt hat!

I loved Pippi Long Stocking as a kid and when I came across this picture on coloryourlife.com I thought it was too cute not to post. To create this costume I would braid her hair and place pipe cleaners in her hair. Check out this you tube video on how to style the hair. You can spray her hair red/orange or use a wig. Then let your child pick out some mismatched knee highs and socks. You can use an apron and stitch on or color some patches. Use face Paint to make freckles and that’s it. Super Fun!

All you need for this one is a blue turtle neck, some face paint, and a bag of feathers from the craft store. To make this costume use a hot glue gun and glue the feather to a shower cap. You may want to spray their hair the same color as the feathers.

This costume is so great for Pacific NW weather. If your child already has a rain coat, boots, and an umbrella you are almost done with the costume. Get out the hot glue gun and glue some stuffed animals onto the umbrella. Maybe your little guy wants it to rain frogs. Why Not?

I just loved their outfits, they look really cute. It is a great time to make your kids wear something that is much more innovative.
